What are they and why do we care

A very large class of web platforms for producing and viewing content.  Most of them are closed, some extremely so.  The web itself sets the minimal cooperative level of reference through http links to remote content.  Because DNRs need to be collaboratively created, collaborative CMSs are going to be a key concern.  Wiki and its development in Wagn
