We declare that democratic governance is the alternative to the war of all against all.  Democracy can fail in a number of ways.  Its institutions can be corrupted by power and money, and the popular will can be short sighted and xenophobic, particularly when demigods use fear as a political tactic.

We intend to work to make democracy fulfill its promise by findng and growing the democratic capacity of nations.  The work is to involve more citizens in the work of democracy, to break down barriers to voting and serving the public.  We will build and maintain the forums of democracy to serve our mission of producing:

1. An educated, active electorate
2. Digital and face to face forums
3. Public data and system assets supporting these
4. New social architectures serving the production of all of the above
