Organization of List

The benefit of using OS is that we can create alternative fields that individuals can search by. This is great because in addition for looking for roles based on type of task, people will also want to search based on type of cause. So, I propose the following. The "front page" organizes all the tasks and such based on the type of work (graphic designer, coding, etc.). I think that people would prefer to initiate their search based on skillset. From there, we make the alternative field a drop box based on general category of cause (environment, civil liberties, etc.). Finally we have a second "open" alternative field that allows poster to define the "subset" of the general category of cause (fracking, NSA, etc.).

Here is my proposed list of general category of causes:

  • Agriculture
  • Art
  • Business and commerce
  • Civil liberties
  • Cultural and Ethnic
  • Economic Justice
  • Education
  • Emergency Response
  • Energy
  • Environment
  • Finance and Money
  • Global Relations
  • Government/Democracy
  • Health
  • Housing
  • Human Rights
  • Immigration
  • Labor
  • Law
  • Media
  • Military
  • Peace and Justice
  • Prison
  • Religious/Spiritual/Philosophical
  • Resources
  • Security and Law Enforcement
  • Social Service/Civic Engagement
  • Technology, Science and industry
  • Transportation
