Note:  This is what Eyeclectic aka John Stone wrote to me back in 11/13/14

Below is the note he wrote and I will also include links.

I get confused about the gift economy.  I think I understand it, but then the ideas of alternative currencies frighten me.  I realize that I end up thinking about scarcity, but I cannot imagine how this is going to work.  If you do something for me, then I give you something in return.  I know that the gift economy is not the same as bartering, but I am not sure how I can wrap my mind around what the differences are.

The Generosity Paradox: By Giving We Receive, But By Taking We Lose

In relation to this, one of my favorite scriptures is 1 Corinthians 10:24, "Let no man seek his own, but every man another's wealth." Just think, if Everyone did this, there would bee no lack or Dream unfulfilled, as We'd ALL just bee lifting each other up, not having to worry (ever read the definition of the word "worry"?), or even to think of our own gain and well-being, being secure that Everyone else has our best interest at Heart! : ) Eye think of Time Banking as a Bridge to expanding our circles of Friends and Family, getting to know each other until We no longer count Time, just Give and let Give, which, to me, is True Gift Economy! Like Saturday, when, not currently having a car, the owner of Chick-Fil-A at Cedar Point helped me keep my LIFElong tradition of going to the park every year by Gifting me a ride in with him! : ) As he, then, mentioned, in conversation, during our drive, that he collects Lighthouses, which !nspired me to Gift him with 2 Lighthouse pictures, which he Loved! : ) This is why We started HeArts Coming Together on The LOVE Train to Light THE Way to each other's Dreams
